What are we doing to help?

Following the tragic death of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, the teenager who died after suffering an allergic reaction to a Pret a Manger baguette, the government confirmed stronger laws would be implemented to protect those with allergies and give them greater confidence in the food they buy.

From 1 October 2021, ‘Natasha’s Law’ came into force. This means all food businesses have to provide full ingredients labelling on food that has been pre-packed for direct sale. The introduction of this law will make it easier for allergy sufferers to make clear and safe choices when buying food.

“I encourage businesses large and small to work with the Food Standards Agency to get this right. Success will mean more choice and better protection for the millions of people – our families, friends, colleagues and neighbours across the UK – who have food allergies.” – Heather Hancock, Food Standards Agency Chair.

Our goal at Robin Hood Entertainment & Soft Play is to ensure everybody is in a safe, stress-free environment. This includes helping people with allergies as much as we can. We are a nut free zone and can cater for most allergies here; please discuss any dietary requirements with staff prior to ordering your food. We offer lots of alternatives such as dairy and gluten free products. Yummy vegan and allergen free options are available from our Robin Hood Cafe! If you are unsure, please ask about the ingredients in your meal when making your order.

To maintain a safe environment, it is imperative that we don’t allow people to bring and consume their own food and drink when they visit us, this is so we can protect people with allergies and practice Natasha’s Law here at Robin Hood’s. Food and drinks are available to purchase in our café area.

Birthday Cakes

Birthday cakes that are brought in by customers can only be allowed into the premises if FULL INGREDIANTS can be provided.

The birthday cake must be presented to us on arrival along with the ingredients list, we will look after the cake, present it and then cut it to be sent home with the party guests.

IT CAN NOT BE CONSUMED ON OUR PREMISES in order for us to uphold our policy regarding Natasha’s Law and protect customers who may have allergy intolerances.
